Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients. Is this role right for you?
The Business Management Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity to join the London-based COO team within the Global Banking and Markets (GBM) division at Scotiabank for 10 weeks during the Summer 2025
You will gain unique insights into many of the bank’s business areas areas, including Front Office. There will be a rotation during the program to gain varied experience in different areas within the GBM COO team including Global Capital Markets Business Management, Corporate and Investment Banking Business Management, Broker & Venue Management and Business and Support Functions COO.
What will my responsibilities look like?
-Work on new initiatives designed to enhance business performance
-Support the setup and management of Scotiabank’s key brokers , venues and trading platforms
-Pool and manipulate sources of data for front office analysis and reporting
-Provides support to COO team on automating manual processes and enhancing data analytics and reporting
-Assist in preparing weekly and monthly reports to senior management
-Complete an intern project assignment and present it to the wider team
-Any other ad hoc work tasks assigned by management
Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you:
-Are a penultimate year undergraduate student graduating in 2026
-Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of Banking and Markets
-Are a self-starter with an inquisitive mindset that is willing to learn with a focus to deliver
-Are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
-Possess a high level of attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
