Offer DescriptionThe successful candidate will be part of the UIB Cross-disciplinary Physics research group and undertake activities in the field of Green Employment under the framework of the group’s research into Biocomplexity: Non-linear Dynamics in Fluids.The successful candidate will undertake the following tasks:1. Implementing numerical codes to simulate growth models for clonal plants2. Calibrating growth models with Posidonia oceanica data3. Finding stationary model solutions from different meadow types: homogenous; hexagonal hole patterns; strip patterns; hexagonal cluster patterns and isolated clusters4. Determining the density and number of minimum bundles based on isolated cluster solutions so that a cluster grows at specific reproduction and mortality rates5. Studying which Posidonia bundle spatial distribution maximises facilitation interactions and minimises competition between bundles to provide the highest growth rates6.
