Offer DescriptionThe successful candidate will be part of the UIB Business management and tourist destinations research group (DIREGEST) and undertake tasks in the Green Economy field under the framework of the group’s area of research: ‘Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism.The successful candidate will:1. Analyse the impact from installing solar panels. This task will comprise undertaking studies to assess the effects of installing solar panels in different settings and buildings2. Study the impact of LED lighting systems. This will comprise analysing the effectiveness and benefits from rolling out LED lighting systems in different settings and buildings with regard to energy consumption and sustainability3. Install smart sensors to optimise energy use. This will comprise installing and managing smart sensors to monitor and optimise real-time energy use in different settings and buildings4. Promote the use of electric vehicles. This will comprise developing information campaigns and initiatives to improve electric vehicle charging infrastructure to foster vehicle take-up5. Produce improvement proposals for energy efficiency in buildings. This will comprise developing a set of monitoring and/or management strategies to increase energy efficiency in buildings, thus contributing to a more sustainable environment6. Reduce dependence on non-renewable energy sources within the Green Economy field.
