Offer DescriptionThe successful candidate will be part of the UIB Community Nutrition and Oxidative Stress research group (NUCOX) and undertake the following tasks: analyse the impact of diet elements and how people eat, and the impact they have on people’s health, firstly and planetary health, secondly, through analysing greenhouse gas emissions (mainly CO2) this diet emits and contributes to the atmosphere; and analyse how the presence of microplastics in food impacts health. These tasks fall within the Green Employment field (limiting greenhouse gas emissions and reducing waste and pollution) as part of the group’s area of research: ‘Community Nutrition. Nutritional Epidemiology. Oxidative Stress.The successful candidate will:1. Develop nutritional epidemiology activities and technique, with a particular focus on polluting gas emissions and the presence of microplastics2. Analyse diets and polluting gas emissions (CO2)3. Perform anthropometric measurements and BIA4. Handle and process human biological samples5. Apply biochemical and molecular biological techniques linked to oxidative stress and inflammation markers, as well as the presence of microplastics6.
