Position Summary
The Materials Engineering Technology (MET) team is increasing capabilities to support the Energy & Metals & Mining business units of Bechtel Global for projects executed in Houston, TX, London, and Santiago. There is a vacancy for a graduate Noise Specialist in the Materials Engineering discipline.
Basic Requirements: Minimum of 1 year industrial experience in noise modelling, noise control.
Typical Responsibilities
The Noise Specialist will report to the Materials Engineering Technology Chief Engineer.
Duties include the following:
-Develop noise models and technical specifications for noise control
-Support to engineering disciplines in preparation of data sheets and requisition packages
-Support project environmental permitting activities
-Review of noise content in technical bids
-Review acoustic insulation requirements
-Provide post award technical support to requisitioning engineers
-Support the project through construction and commissioning phases
-Perform project activities with minimal oversight
Specific capabilities for the role include:
-A working knowledge of engineering principles
-Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines.
-Knowledge of commercial noise modeling software (e.g. CadnaA).
-Knowledge of international codes
-Some knowledge of equipment associated with petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, and power plants
Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidates should have, or be on track for, a 2:1 or higher Masters degree in a relevant engineering discipline and be legally allowed to work in the UK. Work experience relevant to the area you are applying to, and extra-curricular activities will help your application.
