1st Line IT Support Technician – Brentford

This is a brand-new opportunity to join an expanding firm looking for an IT Support Technician to join their team. You’ll be stepping into a key role where you’ll work closely with the Head of IT who brings many years of IT expertise to the table, which will provide you with the opportunity to learn and progress your career. This is your chance to shape this role within the IT support function from the ground up, keeping their tech running smoothly as the company continues to grow.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Maintain essential IT operations: Ensure that operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, and hardware are running seamlessly.
* Provide support: Help users with any tech issues-whether in person, over the phone, or via MS Teams.
* Assist with passwords and logins: Resolve issues quickly to keep everyone connected.
* Regular infrastructure checks: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on key IT systems.
* Install and configure equipment: Set up workstations, laptops, printers, and resolve any related problems.
* Implement software upgrades: Manage updates and troubleshoot issues as needed.
* Manage IT supplies: Order equipment and maintain stock levels.
* Learn on the job: Take advantage of quieter times to complete online Microsoft training.
What You’ll Need:
* Previous experience in an IT support role, either 1st or 2nd line level
* Strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware (laptops, desktops) and software.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
* Familiarity with terminal servers, remote desktops, and network configurations.
* Understanding of Active Directory or Microsoft Entra Cloud (like group policies).
* Azure and Exchange Admin know-how.
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills – patience and clear communication with users of all levels.
