University of CopenhagenThe University seeks to appoint a clinical professor of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine with special focus on integrative respiratory physiology and exercise training to commence as soon as possible. The externally funded professorship is combined with a consultancy at Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine, Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet in the Capital Region.It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. In the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine.The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:

• Research, including publication/academic dissemination

Research on chronic lung diseases through physiological measurements and molecular imaging (SPECT, PET) to study lung functions, perfusion, and oxygen kinetics. The development of developing disease-specific phenotypes and leading randomized clinical trials, particularly within ‘Exercise as Medicine’. * Research-based teaching, including associated examinationRespiratory physiology, clinical physiology, and nuclear medicine, integrating research findings into both the undergraduate medical curriculum, as well as graduate and post-graduate teaching. Research supervision in Medicine and related fields (e.g. Human Physiology and Human Biology). * Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of bachelor and master students as well as PhD studentsSupervision of bachelor and master students as well as PhD students within clinical physiology and nuclear medicine with a focus on research, development, and education in respiratory physiology. It is expected that the candidate will lead his or her own research group. * Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
