Clinical Professor of Cardiologywith Special Focus on Epidemiology (Fixed-Term, 5 Years)Department of Clinical MedicineFaculty of Health and Medical SciencesUniversity of CopenhagenThe University seeks to appoint a clinical professor of Cardiology with special focus on Epidemiology to commence as soon as possible. The externally funded professorship is combined with a consultancy at North Zealand, Hilleroed in the Capital Region.It is a requirement for appointment that the applicant is accepted for both the professorship and the consultancy. The advertisement for the consultancy is available at :Both the professorship and the consultancy will be financed by Copenhagen University Hospital – North Zealand, Hilleroed.Find information on the department at: .Job descriptionIn the consideration of applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level within the area of Cardiology.The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:

• Research, including publication/academic dissemination within the area of clinical epidemiology with application of national registers including registers for diagnostic imaging of the heart

• Research-based teaching, including associated examination. PhD students and pre-graduate research students will be trained in epidemiological methods and diagnostic imaging. The professor will participate in PhD courses and contribute with teaching of students in clinical courses at the hospital as well as theoretical courses in cardiovascular medicine

• Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of bachelor and master students as well as PhD students. The professor will also contribute with a leading role in the research collaboration concerning register research in Statistics Denmark including

200 researchers

• Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate

• Academic assessments
