Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Howden

Salary: £92.56 – £100 per day

Job Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday)

Start Date: September until Christmas 2026

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil at a welcoming primary school in the Howden area. This is a full-time position commencing in September and continuing until Christmas 2026. Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential. Support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate learning activities across the primary curriculum. Help create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment that encourages confidence, independence, and progress. Assist with the pupil’s personal, social, emotional, and educational development through targeted support and encouragement. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other school staff to implement support strategies and contribute to the pupil’s ongoing development and progress.

Requirements:
Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent). Level 3 is desirable. Previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient, caring, and adaptable approach. A genuine passion for helping children succeed and reach their individual goals. Good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, safeguarding procedures, and child protection practices.
