As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to support a pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development. You will provide tailored support to help the pupil engage with learning, develop independence, and feel supported throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support to a pupil during lessons and activities.
Support learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
Adapt activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents.
Ensure safeguarding, inclusion, and well-being are prioritised at all times.
Requirements:
Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to follow support plans and work as part of a team.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness .
