1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School Frome

Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a caring and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Frome. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2026 , ideal for someone with experience in delivering personalised support within a classroom setting.

About the Role

You will work closely with a pupil on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, manage daily routines, and build confidence in the classroom. The school prides itself on being inclusive and nurturing, with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing and progress.

Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs Support the pupil during classroom activities and transitions Implement strategies to encourage engagement and emotional regulation Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and parents Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Relevant SEND qualifications or training (desirable) A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
