The Role – 1:1 Teaching Assistant

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs on a full-time basis. The pupil requires consistent support throughout the school day to help with emotional regulation, engagement in learning, and behaviour management.You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement strategies that support the pupil’s learning and wellbeing. The role will involve building a strong, trusting relationship, providing structure and routine, and using positive behaviour strategies to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum.The ideal candidate will be calm, resilient, and proactive, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour and adapt their approach to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
