1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Stafford – Long Term Cover Role – Start Date: After Easter Term
Academics are currently seeking for a caring and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Catholic primary school in the heart of Stafford. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to provide tailored, individual support to pupils with additional needs within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
This role will involve working on a 1:1 basis, supporting a Reception child and there is also another opportunity to work within the same school supporting a Year 4 pupil. The school is a highly regarded, reputable Catholic school, which has been rated “Good” by Ofsted and is known for its strong values, welcoming community, and a deep commitment to supporting every child to reach their full potential. You will be required to work a 5 day working week, in order to support the pupil on a daily basis – the hours of work are 8:30am – 15:30 pm Monday to Friday.
The role includes:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Reception. Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis in a Year 4 class. Assisting with day-to-day learning activities, engagement and emotional development. Implementing a variety of strategies to support individual learning needs to tailor to the needs of your pupil. Supporting with personal care where necessary, in a respectful and dignified manner. Working closely alongside the class teacher, SENCO, wider staff team and any external professionals.
What we are looking for:
An experienced Teaching Assistant, who is committed to supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis. Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification (Essential). Have valuable experience in supporting children with SEN, whether this is on a 1:1 or group basis. Have a genuine passion for supporting pupils’ academic and personal development. Somebody who is able to jump straight in; able to build strong, trusting relationships with staff, pupils and parents. The ability to manage behaviour in a calm, positive, and reassuring way, confidently implementing the school’s behaviour policies and adapting strategies to meet individual needs. You will be working on a temporary basis, supporting one of our partner schools in the heart of Stafford Somebody who holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
Pay: 93 – 105 a day (dependent on experience) holiday pay is included in the day rate.
