Offer Description1 contract as a predoctoral researcher in training, within the framework of the project referenced PID2023-146841OB-I00 funded by the 2023 call for grants for “Knowledge Generation Projects” and actions for the training of predoctoral research personnel associated with these projects.   • Academic record of the degree/bachelor’s degree/engineering (10 points).
  • Master’s record. The degree of affinity of the candidate’s degrees with the areas of Industrial Mathematics (Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or similar) will be valued (10 points).
  • Mobility and internationalisation of research stays (5 points).
  • English language skills (5 points).

ADDITIONAL AND SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE TO BE ASSESSED (40 points, all contributions must be documented).

  • Experience and familiarity with thermal, thermomechanical, and hydrodynamic modelling in industrial environments, including heat transfer, convection, radiation, and phase change (8 points).
  • Proven knowledge and experience in numerical simulation in industrial processes, specifically in additive manufacturing or LAM-DED, including the use of tools such as the Finite Element Method (FEM) (8 points).
  • Educational background and proven experience in modelling mathematical programming problems using programming languages such as Python, C, Fortran, etc. (8 points).
  • Proven knowledge and experience in integrating artificial intelligence techniques, especially neural networks, to improve calculation times while maintaining simulation accuracy (6 points).
  • Experience in implementing model reduction techniques (MOR – Model Order Reduction) to optimise simulation times (6 points).
  • Proven knowledge and experience in material characterisation (mainly plastic) and mechanical behaviour for the simulation of thermal and thermomechanical deformations (4 points).

PERSONAL INTERVIEW (30 points).Selected candidates based on the above criteria will be invited to a personal interview. Start date expected: The start date of the selected person’s contract will be within a maximum period of 3 months from the day after the publication on the state research agency’s website of the grant resolution, and necessarily on the 1st day of the corresponding month (1) .Type of contract: Predoctoral training contract.Labor category: Research personnel in training.Duration: no longer than 4 years, according to the terms and Annex 1 of the Call (2) .Working hours: full-time (35.0 hours per week).The contract is part of the grant PID2023-146841OB-I00, funded by MCIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by FSE+.(1) The planned start date could be modified depending on the date of resolution of the contract award.
