Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join the team on a temporary basis from September 2024. As a 1:1 LSA, you will play a crucial role in providing individualised support to students with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential. This role is within a mainstream school, working with a children who has an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) and requires additional academic support, as well as social, emotional, mental health interventions to develop their social understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide one-on-one support to a designated student with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
* Assist with the implementation of the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Behaviour Support Plan (BSP).
* Support the student in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
* Work closely with the student, teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Monitor and report on the student’s progress to teachers and SEN coordinators.
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment tailored to the student’s needs.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEN is highly desirable.
* A patient, compassionate, and empathetic nature.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of the student.
* A valid DBS check (Randstad Education can assist with this process).
