Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment Specialist / Landscape Planner
Location: Galway/Dublin
Salary: GBP30,000/GBP40,000
Penguin is proud to be working with a leading multidisciplinary Planning and Environmental Consultancy on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment Specialist / Landscape Planner to join their growing Landscape and Visual team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of large-scale infrastructure and development projects, including renewable energy, sustainable transport, residential, greenway, tourism and urban regeneration schemes.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments across projects of varying scales, while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Scoping, writing and reviewing LVIAs and Environmental Impact Assessment chapters.
* Mapping, spatial analysis and producing high-quality mapping outputs.
* Conducting site visits, fieldwork and technical photography.
* Staying up to date with industry best practice and contributing to the strategic direction of projects.
* Managing projects from inception through to completion, including fees, budgets and client expectations.
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members and managing sub-consultants.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* A third-level qualification in Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
* 3+ years’ experience conducting Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of recognised LVIA best-practice guidance and the assessment process in Ireland.
* Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail with a confident, creative and innovative approach.
* A collaborative mindset and ambition to progress within a growing consultancy.
* A valid driving licence.
