What if you could earn a master’s degree and build real-world pharmaceutical manufacturing experience at the same time? In Kalundborg, you can do exactly that – combining advanced studies at DTU with hands-on process engineering work that impacts millions of patients globally.
Your new role
This is a unique four-year opportunity where education meets industry experience. As a part-time Process Engineer, you’ll apply what you learn in the classroom directly to pharmaceutical manufacturing challenges – and vice versa.
The position will be located at our large production site in Kalundborg and your role will focus on data analysis, process systems and analytics that drive continuous improvement. Day-to-day, you will:

-Analyse large amounts of data to extract correlations and causation for deeper process understanding
-Analyse and interpret data from quality control (QC) analyses to ensure the highest standards
-Develop, maintain, and recommend statistical process control charts for real-time process monitoring
-Apply a science and data-based approach to quantify process deviations and identify root causes
-Work collaboratively with teams to recommend process improvements and optimisations
-Learn how interconnected decisions impact business outcomes in pharmaceutical manufacturing
-Develop monitoring tools that enhance our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality medicines
Throughout your four years, you’ll gain expertise in process thinking, work with chemistry and biochemistry at industrial scale, and graduate with both a master’s degree and substantial professional experience.
About the education
As a student on the Biomanufacturing study line at DTU Campus Kalundborg, you’ll become part of a fast-expanding industry of chemical and biochemical production. Taught by leading experts and professors, you’ll learn to run a factory and work with all industrial processes – from development and improvements to embedding new technology and digitalised optimisations. The programme consists of 120 ECTS points over four years, equipping you with strong engineering knowledge and an innovative mindset.
