For an multinational seeds company, we are currently seeking a Sales Director to take full responsibility for their vegetable seed operations in Italy.
Our client is a globally active, research-driven agribusiness with a strong heritage and a solid financial foundation. With operations across multiple continents and significant annual investment in innovation and breeding, the company combines international scale with an agile, market-focused approach at country level.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced professional who will lead and further develop the Italian vegetable seed business, with full accountability for commercial performance and sustainable growth.
In this position, you will:
Define and implement the country’s short- and mid-term strategy in alignment with the broader international business framework

Design and execute effective go-to-market strategies to strengthen market share and profitability

Drive sales and margin performance, ensuring close monitoring of financial results
*
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across sales, product management, logistics, and finance
*
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, including labor, tax, safety, environmental, and health standards
*
Act as the key interface between the Italian organization and international business units, optimizing structures and collaboration
This is a country leadership role offering significant autonomy within a well-structured global organization.
The Profile
We are particularly interested in candidates with solid experience in the international vegetable seed industry or a closely related agricultural input sector.
The ideal profile includes:
Demonstrated experience managing a country organization or business unit with full P&L responsibility

Strong commercial expertise combined with operational understanding across sales, supply chain, and finance

A pragmatic, hands-on leadership style with the ability to inspire and align teams

Strategic thinking and an entrepreneurial mindset, with a clear focus on growth and market development

Fluency in Italian and English

Availability to be based in Northern Italy with regular travel across the country
