Proseal UK Ltd is a company that designs and manufactures high quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry and has manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Having been established for 25 years, demand for the Proseal product is growing and we are responsible for developing many plastic-based alternatives for preserving the life of and carrying food safely. Formed in 1998, Proseal has not only become the leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling in the UK but is now also recognised as a major force internationally with manufacturing facilities in United states and Australia along with offices in Ireland, Holland, Spain, Canada, South America, and Dubai.

The Team Leader North at Proseal plays a crucial role in developing the Service team and identifying new business opportunities to support installation growth. As a leader and expert engineer, you will support the engineering team alongside preforming day-to-day service duties and have the option to assist with on-call rota as needed. We anticipate a balanced focus on leadership and engineering duties once the team is fully established.

Shift Pattern/Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day and two paid 15 minutes per day. A total of 40 hours per week.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Lead a team of Service Engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
  • Share best practices and knowledge with regional engineers, including technical upskilling and mentoring as needed.
  • Contribute to developing the regional approach at Proseal, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure timely communication between the business and clients via our engineers.
  • Support task assignments and ensure engineers are prepared to assist local clients.
  • Develop local routines to reduce travel time and improve response times, minimizing excessive travel.
  • Attend site visits and act as the first point of contact for customers, serving as the professional touchpoint in the region.
  • Commissioning, installation, training, and ongoing support are essential components of this role.
  • Identify opportunities for spare parts sales, training, and service contracts, contributing to business growth.
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements, ensuring client needs are anticipated and fulfilled.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction with all aspects of work.
  • Implement improvements in processes and services offered, providing feedback on common problem trends and potential defects.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, keeping up to date with new technologies and procedures.
  • Comply with all statutory and Proseal-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Provide on-site support for breakdown situations as needed.
  • Undertake any other duties required by management to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Proven years of experience in Proseal and within the Field Service organisation
  • An ability to be and act as a role model.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Have completed a recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Have NVQ level 3 in an electrical installation or maintenance discipline.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license.
  • Hold a current passport as international travel may be required.
  • Be PC literate with ability to create, modify and maintain MS office documents (PDF Files, excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Understand and meet Health and Safety obligations in line with company requirements.
