Architectural Professional

Salary: GBP26-36,000

Location: Cornwall

A well-established, multidisciplinary architectural and engineering consultancy is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join its team. The firm delivers a wide range of projects across the UK, with particular expertise in heritage conservation, historic building works, MoD estates, and civil/structural engineering. Its portfolio includes commercial and residential developments, iconic historic buildings, defence estates, and sensitive heritage sites. The work is primarily technical and site-focused, involving detailed surveys, inspections, regulatory compliance, and preparation of construction packages- sometimes more than new design work. The firm welcomes applications from Part 1 and Part 2 Architectural Assistants as well as qualified Architects, provided candidates understand the role’s technical emphasis.

Benefits

* Competitive salary with bonus scheme
* Flexible working arrangements to support work/life balance
* Exposure to a diverse range of challenging UK projects, from heritage conservation to MoD and marine works
* Professional development opportunities, including support toward recognised accreditation
* Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment working alongside engineers, surveyors, and conservation specialists

Key Responsibilities

* Produce and manage technical drawing packages using CAD/BIM software (e.g. AutoCAD & Revit)
* Prepare planning, building regulation, and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with UK standards
* Conduct building surveys, site visits, and inspections, including heritage sites, MoD estates, and other complex projects, with occasional national travel
* Collaborate with clients, consultants, engineers, and other disciplines to coordinate project delivery
* Work independently where needed, using initiative and problem-solving to meet deadlines and budgets

Ideal Candidate

* Degree (or HNC/HND) in Architectural Technology, or related discipline, or actively pursuing a relevant qualification
* Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software
* Demonstrable experience in building surveying, technical detailing, and project delivery, ideally including historic or complex buildings, heritage sites, or MoD estates
* Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning processes, and construction standards
* Excellent organisational, communication, and time-management skills; able to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Confident, proactive, and hands-on, with commitment to delivering high-integrity technical work
