This is a rare chance to work hands-on with cutting-edge automation technologies in one of the industry’s newest and most advanced pharmaceutical production facilities. You will play a key role in shaping systems and processes from an early stage, giving you a unique platform to influence long-term operational excellence and continuous improvement.

We invite you for our Automation Engineer position, and to become a valued member of our team.

Your new role

In this role, you will participate in the establishment of a new manufacturing facility in Kalundborg, Denmark—an exceptional professional opportunity. As our new Automation Engineer in Purification Plant V (PPV), you will support primary operation, and potentially be part of the project activities, for production lines not yet released.

The PPV Automation team currently supports DCS, ECS and MES in API production. Specifically, with 800xA system from ABB, the latest PLC technology from Siemens and PAS-X.

Our daily operations are guided by cLEAN principles and systematic troubleshooting methodologies, including systematic problem solving (SPS), root cause analysis, documentation review, and organizational development through process and workflow learning. You will collaborate closely with our production teams, external partners, and cross-functional groups throughout the organization. Additionally, you will help ensure that your designated system is seamlessly integrated with other systems, instruments, and processes, fully compliant with GMP requirements, and subject to ongoing, systematic improvement.

PPV represents a significant initiative aimed at supporting Novo Nordisk in delivering essential insulin and other critical medications to our patients. This project entails a long-term commitment not only to our personnel but also to the ongoing development of our facility.

Your primary work location will be onsite in Kalundborg. Occasional travel may be required on a minimal basis, typically limited to a few days per year. Our team provides 24/7 support according to a scheduled rotation to ensure coverage beyond standard working hours.

Your new department

We offer opportunities for career growth within Manufacturing in Kalundborg and the PPV Automation department, in which you will join a team of dedicated professionals from diverse backgrounds. Our commitment to quality and purpose drives our work, and we have established an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and enjoyment. Collectively, our efforts positively impact over 30 million individuals living with diabetes and other chronic diseases every day.

We invite you to take part in our journey by making it your own.

Your skills and qualifications

We seek a motivated and inquisitive professional who can enhance our team both in expertise and collaborative spirit. The preferred candidate will demonstrate a strong background in most of the following skills and experiences:

style=”list-style-type:square;text-align:justify”-
-An academic degree within Engineering, IT or similar or have extensive relevant experience on a similar role
-+3 years of experience with 800xA. PAS-X is considered a strong advantage
-Strong “investigation skills”, ability to understand problems from users whenever they occur, its impact, and translate this piece of information into actionable initiatives
-Great communication skills, being able to share “crisp and clear” statuses, escalating and driving actions timely.
-Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and GMP requirements. Experience within the pharmaceutical industry or other highly regulated industry (GMP)..
-Full proficiency in English, since our team is international. Danish is not mandatory, but willingness to learn is a minimum requirement.

As a person, you demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, consistently striving to address underlying issues with a commitment to quality. Your work is methodical, and you remain receptive to new ideas, proactively communicating relevant information to colleagues. Collaboration and teamwork are central to your approach, closely aligning with the values of Novo Nordisk. You maintain a positive and accountable attitude, driven by customer needs and focused on solutions. Given your interactions across various local and international departments, you are sociable and willing to take initiative in identifying opportunities for development and improvement.
