Offer DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral associate to conduct research in a project entitled: “Harnessing the metabolic switch that occurs in early pancreatic cancer events for therapy and detection”. The project, funded by the Belgian Foundation against Cancer aims to investigate the metabolic landscape of early pancreatic cancer events to uncover new therapeutic avenues and develop metabolic biomarkers for early detection. The research program will establish in vitro and in vivo pancreatic acinar-to-ducal metaplasia models and deploy liquid-chromatography mass-spectrometry to analyse the metabolome and proteome of acinar cells undergoing metaplasia. The candidate must be at ease with animal experimentation and possess the European accreditation (FELASA), UK home office animal licence or international equivalent. Prior expertise in either pancreatic cancer biology, cellular metabolism or mass spectrometry are highly desirable. The candidate will demonstrate expertise and productivity through first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals and will have strong communication skills.
