- Local development of chassis parts for vehicles built in Toyota’s European assembly plants. This activity is done in close cooperation with local suppliers and Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan.
- Investigation and pre-development of new European technologies.
- Development & testing of vehicle dynamics performance (ride comfort, handling, steering, brake).

We take a data driven, digital and human-centric approach.Your responsibilitiesThe main expectation from a candidate in this area is to successfully support chassis systems and parts development. Typical activities:
- Design the system & parts to achieve target performance in multiple chassis areas like suspension, tyres, wheels, steering wheel, shifter, …
- Design and validate the vehicle dynamics performance, including brake control or power steering assist
- Simultaneously engineer with our stylists in the development of components contributing to total vehicle style, like wheels, steering wheel, shifter, …
- Simultaneously engineer with other stakeholders in R&D
- Coordinate development activities with vehicle evaluation teams
- Lead development with Toyota counterparts (e.g. R&D, quality, purchasing, etc.)
- Cooperate with suppliers to complete development tasks
- Pursue cost and weight reduction activities with suppliers and purchasing support
- Research and propose new technologies in the chassis domain
- Proactively benchmark activities for chassis system and vehicle performance
- Review chassis performance, seeking further improvement for end customer
- Support field investigations & troubleshooting
Your Profile
- You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
You have a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (or Automotive Engineering)You have mechanical or automotive engineering experience, in design & development of complex mechanical parts, preferably of chassis parts and systemsYou have actual professional working experience, also as an internship, of 2 years in time or moreYou have knowledge of general vehicle and mechanical design (structural mechanics, material engineering, frequency response analysis, production method/process, …)Knowledge and experience in vehicle dynamics is an assetKnowledge and experience with FMEA method is an assetKnowledge of advanced design solutions for chassis parts is an asset (FEA, topology optimisation, simulation of vehicle and part behaviour, …)Interest or experience in product styling (looks) design is an assetHands-on vehicle (dynamics) evaluation skills are an assetYou have excellent communication skills (both verbal & written)You are pro-active and persistentYou are self-confident and proceed the job with own initiativeYou have an analytical approach & good problem-solving skillsYou are motivated to learn Toyota Production System and development wayYou have a cost and quality conscious mind with customer focusYou have experience with CATIA v5 and FEM analysis are an assetExperience with machine learning tools (e.g. Python) is an assetWe offerWe offer a dynamic multicultural work environment with broad opportunities to learn every day and exciting career pathways that help you explore different disciplines or areas of expertise.Your benefits:
