About the Position
The position is within one of our three Chemical Control teams but will also involve equipment life cycle management activities in our two sister teams. You will be part of a team with 15 individuals, including both laboratory technicians and chemists. The work environment is open and dynamic, and we have good collaboration within the team, the department, and with our primary stakeholders. The team is responsible for a wide range of analytical chemical test methods, generally performed in accordance with various pharmacopeias. You will work with general wet chemical analytical methods, as well as with various analytical platforms. The platforms we use and are responsible for in the team are particularly within spectroscopy, i.e., Raman, NIR, FT-IR, and UV. Additionally, we handle pH, osmolality, TLC, microscopy, SDS-PAGE, and ELISA.
As a senior chemist in Sourcing QC, your tasks will include:

-Qualification of Laboratory Equipment: Ensuring all equipment meets required standards for accurate and reliable performance.
-Data Digitalization: Streamlining processes through automatic data transfer from equipment to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
-Implementation of Automated Equipment: Introducing and integrating advanced equipment to automate analytical processes.
-Method Improvement: Optimizing existing analytical methods for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.

-Method Verification and Validation: Ensuring new and improved methods meet rigorous quality and compliance standards.
You will contribute to setting the direction for our journey towards a more digitalized laboratory, with a strong focus on simple and robust methods. You will collaborate closely with our other chemists in the department as well as our colleagues in Material Manufacturing Development and in Sourcing Warehouse, who perform ID by NIR and Raman under QC supervision.
The position provides ample opportunity to further develop yourself and strengthen your chemical analytical competencies and technical skills within analytical equipment.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you:

-Hold at least BSc degree within relevant field (e.g., bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, etc.).
-Have proven experience within GMP as well as working in a QC laboratory.
-Are experienced with spectroscopy and a solid basic chemical understanding and analytical mindset are preferred.
-Can articulate yourself in writing and verbally in both English and Danish at a professional level.
We conduct analyses on raw materials and excipients used in the production of Novo Nordisk’s products, and our primary focus is to release the analyses on time. To support this, you understand the value of being a team player, being flexible when priorities change, and taking responsibility for meeting the deadlines that our customers depend on. We are on a digital journey in QC, so it is expected that you are familiar with equipment and IT and can navigate different systems.
About Sourcing QC
You will be part of the Sourcing QC department, which is responsible for ensuring the quality of raw materials, excipients, and packaging materials for Novo Nordisk’s productions. The department consists of approximately 132 employees divided into 9 teams. You will be part of one of our three chemical teams all located in Hillerød. The position is in one of our chemical analysis teams, which is responsible for the chemical analysis of materials using a wide range of methods, but specialised in spectroscopic analyses, such as UV, FT-IR, NIR and Raman. The teams each consists of 15 people, including laboratory technicians and chemists, with a strong sense of commitment and team spirit where we care for and help each other.
