Description – Call for Expression of Interest for a joint application under the upcoming Call for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025University of Genoa, UNIGE, located in Genoa, ITALY, welcomes postdoctoral researchers of any nationality, with an excellent track record, to apply to the European Commission Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025. Our University has been beneficiary of several MSCA-PF in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.The Marie Sklodowska Curie (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship is one of funding scheme of the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Research & Innovation programme, dedicated to excellent research promoting international mobility, as well as interdisciplinary and intersectoral exchanges.MSCA fellowship grant provides a competitive salary plus mobility and family allowances if applicable, as well as a contribution to cover research, training and networking costs. The research projects will have 2- or 3-years duration.Selected candidates will be provided with special support for proposal writing and development.The University of Genoa will organize in May the fifth edition of the Masterclass MSCA@UniGe. Selectedcandidate researchers will have the opportunity to attend a 2-days online intensive training and coaching course on how to write a successful proposal. This masterclass is a pathway of support to candidates and their supervisors in preparing project proposal, including prescreening activity of the draft proposals and the organisation of dedicated B2B meetings, by the European Research Office of UniGe, National Contact Point and other experts.The masterclass will take place on May/June2025.More information:MSCA domain: Life Sciences (LIF)Research Project DescriptionThe MSCA postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to choose to follow one or more of a number of research project exploring the interplay between heart failure and non-cardiac diseases, such as:– assessment of the proteome of pulmonary venular and capillary plasma from patients with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension vs pulmonary arterial hypertension, and subsequent validation of the mostly differentially modulated proteins in experiments with endothelial cell cultures– elaboration of an update ranking of heart failure comorbidities, based on the association with major outcomes– a randomized clinical trial to compare cardiology vs multidisciplinary management of heart failure with preserved ejection fractionPrior experiences in cardiovascular research is not necessary, but will be priviliged.Research GroupThe MSCA postdoctoral fellow will join a team mainly made of young investigators, who work partly in a laboratory within a research building and partly in a university hospital. The two sites are close to one another at walkable distance, within a well-connected hub of medical facilities in the center of Genova.Prof. Pietro Ameri, MD, PhD, is a physician scientist and Associate Professor at the University of Genova. He is supported by several competitive research grants. He is currently coordinator of the PhD Program in Translational and Clinical Internal Medicine of the University of Genova (tacim.phd.unige.it), member of Scientific Committee on Basic & Translational Research of the ESC Heart Failure Association, and Secretary of ESC the Council of Cardio-Oncology.ApplicationAn expression of interest shall be sent to prof.
