The finance function of the entity aims notably at: managing business performance, ensuring accurate and adequate reporting to its many stakeholders (Board, SCOR Group, Regulators, Auditors, Tax authorities, etc) and ensuring appropriate business support services.
Created in 2018, SCOR Europe SE is a Paris-based P&C insurance company which provides direct insurance of major industrial risks and through MGAs across Europe. The entity also has UK and German branches.
The successful candidate will be expected to actively work with the different local, regional and group teams and key stakeholders.
Under the responsibility of the EMEA CFO and in coordination with the P&C Business Unit, local and Group Finance teams:
- Support both the Group and the BU in the analysis of the profitability of the SCOR Europe SE business:
- Timely and accurate preparation of the IFRS quarterly financial statements, French Gaap annual financial statements and Solvency II reporting (QRTs, narrative reports and contribution to the ORSA)
- Manage all related financial analytics (management information and external communication)
- Promote a strong control environment on all financial aspects relative
- Support the business in the management and analysis of the prospective performance (actuals and operating plans) including management expenses
- Capital management and tax related topics:
- Ensure the continuous monitoring (i.e at least quarterly) of the current and forecasted capital and solvency levels and propose changes if required, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, in terms of internal retrocessions and capital structure to optimize the way SCOR Europe SE operates.
- Ensure management of technical cash flows, liquidity and tax efficiency matters for the entity
- Support the SCOR Europe SE CEO in his participation to the governance of the legal entity (Board)
- Contribute to ad hoc projects or analyses involving SCOR Europe SE
- Contribute to development the SCOR Europe Finance team (knowledge, experience…)
- IFRS and French GAAP reporting experience
- Proven work experience within Solvency 2 environment
- Team player, collaborative spirit
- Very good understanding of Actuarial/Risk Assessment/Financial Techniques.
- Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance business and principles.
- Excellent French and English writing, as reports will be produced in both languages
- Can operate in a hands-on manner in a lean organization with limited resources and budgets.
- Develops high levels of credibility and accountability.
- Prioritizes and uses resources for the greatest impact.
- Personal presence, confidence, and professional competence necessary to represent the company with internal and external executives
- Able to identify and summarize the main issues in a clear, unambiguous and simple language
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Master degree (or above) in Finance/Audit/Controlling from Business School or Strong finance and accounting background (domestic or foreign CPA).
