Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Marine Claims Handler to join our growing team.

You will be responsible for managing and processing marine-related insurance claims, ensuring prompt, fair, and accurate claims settlements in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine insurance, excellent communication skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.

How you’ll make an impact

• Manage the entire lifecycle of marine insurance claims, from initial assessment to final settlement, including investigation, liability assessment, and loss evaluation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal regulations, and internal procedures throughout the claims process.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on relevant events and discussions related to their claims. Strive for complete customer satisfaction by regularly reviewing claim statuses with clients, insurers, recovery agents, and solicitors.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of the market, insurance practices, legislation, and technical aspects.
• Efficiently running claims and keeping the system updated with all relevant information.
• Produce accurate claims statistics in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Determine appropriate settlement amounts for claims based on facts, policy terms, and any applicable deductibles or exclusions.
• Negotiate settlements within authority limits and escalate complex or high-value claims to senior management when necessary.

About You

• Cert CII/Dip CII qualification
• Experience in marine insurance claims
• Strong knowledge of marine insurance
• Eligible to work in the UK
