Michał Wojciechowski, is offering a postdoctoral research position at the Faculty of Mathematics,
Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw.Terms of employment
Selected candidate will be employed as full-time researcher (pol. adiunkt w grupie pracowników
badawczych) for 7 months, starting not ealier than 1st of February 2025 – up to an agreement between the
candidate and the principal investigator. The offered salary is around PLN 7 500 gross/month. The
position comes with no teaching obligations and a generous travel budget. The selected candidate will
investigate properties of non-reflexive Banach spaces with tools of harmonic analysis and martingale
theory with deteailed analysis of similarities and differences between those two theories. In particular
interpolation of spaces of smooth functions will be used in this purpose.Description of the project
Part of the project focuses on singular properties of measures and distributions. The main emphasis is put
on the following:
complex and real interpoation methods;
functional inequalities of differential operators;
analysis in spaces of smooth functions and distrributions.Requirements
We expect candidates to have a PhD in Mathematics (or related field) at the time of hiring- the degree can
be obtained no earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in project – and to have an excellent
background in this field. We also require a record of scholarly achievement (documented by publications)
in the area that this project concers. Strong background in Fourier and functional analysis as well as
interpolation theory is an necessary requiremant for candidates.Applications
Candidates eligible to participate in the competition must meet the requirements specified in Article 113
of the Law on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571, as
amended).An application should include Curriculum Vitae that:
· presents an overview of the background and scientific achievements of the candidate;
· lists all the candidate’s research works (including not yet published manuscripts),
· contains a list of three experienced researchers that may serve as references for the candidate.
In addition to the above, there should be a signed cover letter addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of
Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics, University of Warsaw together with the personal data clause
