As Usability Engineer you will be an advocate for end users in mid to late-stage medical device development projects. You will be responsible for planning, scoping and documenting usability activities and that authority requirements are met.Your main responsibilities will include:
- Regulatory Compliance and Documentation: You will be responsible for writing and maintaining detailed documentation to support regulatory compliance and design control phases within usability, including the creation of high-quality usability reports
- Manage and coordinate usability process and documentation: You need strong collaboration and project management skills to plan, coordinate, and execute usability activities. The role involves managing timelines, resources, and ensuring adherence to protocols and standards
- Close collaboration with key stakeholders, such as project managers, risk managers, systems engineers, clinical & external vendors
- Report to the Manager of the Usability Research Team, who is also a Usability Engineer by education and training
As part of a talented and growing team, it is expected that you will also be part of optimizing our research process and activities on an on-going basis. Approximately 10-20 days of travel a year is expected in relation to executing usability tests.Qualifications
To be a competitive candidate, you should have:
- An academic degree in a natural science or engineering (MSc or equivalent)
- Solid experience with data documentation and reporting thorough data-collection efforts and analysis is crucial
- Strong analytical competencies, which support your ability to explain usability information in a structured, clear and accurate way
- Stakeholder management skills, which you should expect to use when interacting with technical experts of different disciplines
- Professional proficiency in English and experienced user of MS Office
- Knowledge of international standards and guidance’s including ANSI/AAMI/IEC 62366, ISO 14971 it is an advantage

You will join our Usability Engineering department consisting of 17 skilled usability professionals, who enjoy having a collaborative approach when setting direction within the field of usability. The Usability Engineering department is part of Devices and Delivery Solutions (DDS) which consists of more than 400 colleagues who works dedicated to design and develop innovative medical devices, digital health products, and digital therapeutic solutions for our patients.
