This role involves working on innovative solutions that enhance research, technology, and innovation capabilities across Europe.In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of complex applications that support the European Commission’s efforts in driving sustainable development and scientific advancements.YOUR TASKS
Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java (JEE) and Spring, ensuring code quality and system integrity.
Work extensively with Angular (2+), Java SE, Java 8, and Java 11, integrating modern UI paradigms and client-side scripting for optimal user experience.
Design and implement SOAP web services on Oracle WebLogic and utilize Oracle middleware products.
Collaborate on multi-tier application architecture, integrating standards/APIs such as XSD, SOAP, JAX-WS, and JAXB.
Manage and optimize relational databases, particularly Oracle and SQL.
Apply expertise in Message-Oriented Middleware/Enterprise Service Bus technologies and RESTful paradigms for efficient application communication.
Contribute to microservices architecture and CI/CD workflows, utilizing tools like Jenkins, Sonar, and automated testing frameworks.
Participate in the development of reusable components, leveraging knowledge in UML and object-oriented design.
Engage with cross-functional teams and Agile methodologies, contributing to Scrum workflows and continuous integration. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCETo be successful in this role, you will need:
Technical Proficiency: Over 7 years of experience in Java (JEE) and Spring, with added expertise in Java SE, Java 8, Java 11, and Angular 2+ (Angular 6+ is a plus).
Web Services & Middleware: Proven experience with WS SOAP on Oracle WebLogic, Oracle SOA Suite, and APIs such as XSD, SOAP, and JAX-WS.
Database Management: Strong command of relational databases (Oracle, SQL).
Modern UI & Microservices: Experience with UI paradigms, microservices architecture, and RESTful design.
Testing & DevOps: Extensive experience with unit and integration testing, CI/CD processes, and tools like Jenkins, Sonar.
Tools & Technologies: Practical experience with XML, HTML, IntelliJ, Maven, JSON, PL-SQL, SQL, GIT, and various other relevant tools.
Communication & Collaboration: Proficiency in English (B2/C1+ level), capable of working independently while thriving in team environments. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Location: Brussels, Belgium. Home-working or contractor’s premises at a distance which allows service providers to be onsite within 2 hours, up to 5 days per month.
