Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Quality Program Manager will work on programs related to the quality system. You will lead multi-departmental, cross-functional Global/Regional teams which are focused on the delivery of new or existing projects associated with features of the Quality system. We look for you to also plan / develop and maintain associated project schedules while working on various tasks associated with the projects. The role also requires the tracking of Quality metrics such as the Cost of Quality and develop strategies to lower the Cost of Quality over the entire Division.
Promote continuous improvement methodologies for the Quality Systems and for the Manufacturing Operations. Drive programs to improve customer satisfaction through inter-department communication, internal manufacturing specification understanding, global collaboration, and leadership of quality improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
-Manage and provide leadership to multiple Quality programs and projects
-Identify areas for improvement to be prioritized and acted upon
-Management of CoQ project portfolio
-Support the new product development process, supplier/customer quality issue resolution
-Coach and develop employees in responsibilities as well as identified developmental areas
-Develop methods/metrics to evaluate and continuously improve process capability and effectiveness
-Manage the technical aspects of projects
-Meet annual objectives of Quality metrics
Experiences/Education – Required
-Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
-Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Quality Assurance with 5 years of experience in a plant quality management role.
-Effective project management skills; experience in managing large-scale and/or multiple projects simultaneously
-Demonstrated ability of strategic thinking and planning
-Previous supervisory experience across multiple locations
-Organized; ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities across multiple locations.
-Strong Communication skills, ability to effectively communicate and interact across all levels.
-Ability to coach and mentor
-Ability to develop, coordinate and facilitate workshops
