Offer DescriptionGrant/funding reference: PID2022-141027NB-C21Job title: EARTH-DLResearch line / Scientific-technical services: Development of Information Systems with advanced technologies such as DDM, LPS, GIS and CDSThe EarthDL-UDC project aims to optimize the management of information stored in geospatial data lakes by integrating compact data structures, model-based development methods, and variability management strategies. This approach aims to create more efficient, user-friendly and cost-effective information systems.TASKS TO BE PERFORMEDSupport/Assistance in research, software development, and data preprocessing and feeding. In particular:

  • Research Support/Assistance: You will collaborate with the research team to explore new methodologies and approaches in the management and visualization of large volumes of data, especially in the context of geospatial data.
  • Software Development: You will participate in the design and implementation of a software product line oriented to data visualization in geospatial data lakes.
  • Data Preprocessing and Feeding: You will be responsible for the management of large data sets, including their cleaning, transformation, and structuring to be used efficiently in analysis and visualization processes.

  • Academic record of a higher degree (Bachelor’s, Bachelor’s, Engineering or equivalent) in the field of computer science: up to 20 points.
  • Academic record of a Master’s degree in the field of computer science, up to 20 points. Only completed master’s degrees will be considered.
  • Work experience (with contract) in R&D projects, technology transfer: up to 20 points. Up to 5 points may be awarded per year of experience/course in activities or projects where the candidate proves his/her participation.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of bioinformatics, data platform development, computer developments using technologies relevant to the call: 5 points per year/course, up to 20 points.
  • Accreditation of English level, B2 or higher: 5 points.
  • Personal interview, provided that a minimum of 40 points are reached in the previous sections and only in the case of a possible tie between candidates: up to 15 points.

The suitability of the CV to the job offered will be assessed.The call may be void if the minimum of 30 points is not reached in the first 4 sections; the same criteria will be followed for incorporation into a possible waiting list.Selection processWHERE TO APPLY: UDC online services site.
