The VacancyDN Colleges Group is looking for a dedicated Children’s University Co-ordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will work across Doncaster and North and North East Lincolnshire schools to support the running of the Children’s University (CU). This role involves collaborating with colleagues, securing funding, and enhancing the CU offer through various initiatives and partnerships.This role is working full-time, 35.5 hours per week – working 38 weeks per year. The pro rata salary is £21,450.40 – £22,522.08 Per annumScope and Purpose of the Role:

  • Programme Development: Develop and implement the Children’s University offer to schools and learning destinations across Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.
  • Funding and Partnerships: Formulate successful funding bids and seek out local businesses through social responsibility schemes to finance outreach work.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Design and implement extra-curricular clubs at Doncaster and North Lindsey Campuses.
  • Parent Ambassador Project: Liaise with Pyramid schools to ensure the successful implementation of the Children’s University Parent Ambassador project.
  • Outreach Coordination: Oversee the coordination of all outreach work and actively market CU activities to ensure uptake aligns with departmental targets.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working with children, young people, and parents.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Experience working with stakeholders such as schools, businesses, and funders.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing and business development linked to successful promotion campaigns.
  • Skills in formulating funding bids or developing strategies to create funding streams.
  • Ability to multi-task, demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, problem-solving, and flexibility in a demanding work environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues within the context of children and young people.
  • Commitment to the success of learners within a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Programme Coordination: Develop and enhance the CU offer, ensuring effective delivery and coordination of activities.
  • Funding and Networking: Attend networking events and strategic meetings to secure funding and support for CU activities.
  • Collaboration: Work with staff across Doncaster and North Lincolnshire College and University Campuses to develop in-house CU opportunities.
  • Parent Engagement: Actively recruit and support Parent Ambassadors.
  • Event Participation: Attend all CU graduation ceremonies and other events, which may include evening and weekend work.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development and participate in staff development activities.
