The Department studies social, psychological and technical aspects in the context of cyber security and conducts research on the existing skills gap and the effectiveness of educational methods in the field of cyber security. It also collaborates with teams working on the technological and social aspects of cyber security at an international level.We are looking for an ambitious and committed scientist with extensive interdisciplinary research experience and relevant technical competence in the area of both cyber security and security in the use of new technologies, as well as social and technological aspects of cyber security and human centric cybersecurity approaches. The post holder should also have a clear vision of interesting research directions concerning these areas, supported by the relevant knowledge to set up and lead the Department.Tasks: * Nurturing the Department’s vision and mission

  • Co-managing the Department’s portfolio of research and development initiatives
  • Direct participation in coordinating and conducting scientific research in the Department
  • Scientific and technical cooperation of the Department within NASK and with external entities
  • Publication activities and raising funds for ongoing projects

  • Proven scientific achievements (publications in national and international journals, presentations at conferences, participation in scientific and R&D projects) in the area of cybersecurity, security in the use of new technologies, taking into account social and technological aspects of cyber security and a human centric cybersecurity approach;
  • At least 2-year proven experience in leading scientific and R&D projects and/or scientific teams;
  • Experience in successfully supporting the scientific development of junior researchers;
  • Interest in cybersecurity;
  • Fluency in Polish and knowledge of English (min. level C1);
  • Willingness to continue scientific development in the discipline of information and communication technology;
  • A clear vision of interesting research directions concerning technological and social aspects of cyber security and human-centred approaches to cyber security supported by knowledge of the current state of the art in this field.

Academic internships in renowned research centres will be an added advantage.Specific RequirementsApplication should include:

  • a curriculum vitae containing a description of the candidate’s scientific achievements, in particular:
  • a list of research projects in which the candidate has participated, including the role of the candidate in the project;
  • a list of projects managed and implemented by the applicant;
  • list of publications;
  • list of positions held.
  • a motivation letter addressed to the Director of NASK – PIB, containing, in particular, an outline of the vision of the future research directions of the department, no more than 1 page of A4 format (full presentation of the vision will be expected from the candidates during the interview;
  • a statement of consent to the processing of personal data for recruitment purposes;
  • copies of educational evidence.
