Robert Half Talent Solutions is currently looking for a Legal Counsel (m/f/x) for a permanent position based in Brussels.Our client is an international holding company (listed), active in the insurance and reinsurance sector.Your responsibilities as Legal Counsel (m/f/x) :
- Drafting a diverse range of contracts at holding level, from supplier contracts to strategic intra-group agreements, delivering sound legal advice with a hands-on approach and a full understanding of the requirements of the business. As the company is involved in various innovative projects, many of these contracts are technology-related;
- Acting as sparring partner of the internal clients and collaborating with them for pragmatic, business friendly, and legally sound solutions;
- Participating in transversal and multidisciplinary projects across the Group;
- Supporting our sustainability team with legal advice on ESG matters;
- Staying up-to-date with the latest legal and regulatory developments relevant to the company, including sector-specific regulations and participating in the implementation within the Group;
- Reviewing internal procedures and policies from a legal perspective and make them as hands-on as possible;
- Occasionally following up on litigation procedures, together with external counsel;
- You may be asked to travel occasionally.
The required profile for the Legal Counsel (m/f/x) position :
- Master’s degree of law (Belgian);
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a reputable law firm or with the in-house legal department of a major company (ideally international);
- Experience in the financial services or insurance sector, and/or with issuers listed on a stock exchange is a plus;
- French OR Dutch native with an excellent knowledge English, both orally and in writing (trilingual is a definite plus);
- Deep expertise in contract law, ideally IT-contracts (SaaS, cloud and technology development contracts)
- Deep expertise in company law in the broadest sense (+ understanding of the legal implications of being a listed company);
- You are a smart, energetic and enthusiastic person who likes to constantly challenge yourself;
- You are a team player building rapport with others within and outside of work.
