The position
As a Senior Chemist, you will play a vital role in our spectroscopy team, working alongside lab technicians and chemists with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds. Close collaboration with your team, warehouse, sourcing QC and colleagues across our Novo Nordisk production sites will be integral for your success. We are currently offering multiple positions at varying seniority levels.
Your primary tasks will include:
-Validating and verifying spectroscopy methods (including FT-IR, NIR, or Raman)
-Qualifying and implementing new equipment to support QC laboratory upgrades
-Leading projects to ensure timely implementation of pharmacopoeia changes as well as innovation projects to develop state-of-the-art methods for our QC laboratories.
-Providing QC support for deviations, out-of-specification results, and laboratory investigations
-Handling deviations, writing change requests, and supporting lab technicians in their daily work
-Transferring Spectroscopy methods to other Novo Nordisk sites
Additionally, as part of our department, you will be involved in various tasks that support other parts of Novo Nordisk.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
-A Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, or a related natural science field
-5+ years’ experience, with a strong background in spectroscopy methods (FT-IR, NIR, Raman) and method validation. In depth experience in FT-IR is preferred.
-Experience with pharmacopoeia compliance
-Proficiency in written and spoken English
-Familiarity with GMP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements
-It is advantageous to have knowledge of systematic problem solving, LIMS (Lab Vantage) and process optimization

About the department
In Analytical Development, we are approximately 50 employees across 4 teams, located in Hillerød, where we have laboratory facilities and offices. We are responsible for the development, verification, validation, implementation, and optimization of analyses for complex materials (e.g., raw materials, excipients, and primary packaging materials). We hand over fully developed methods to Quality Control (QC) and collaborate with various stakeholders, including QC, Quality Assurance (QA), Material Responsible Scientists, and Novo Nordisk production sites globally. We are part of Material Manufacturing Development within External Supply Sourcing Operations, which is overall responsible for Novo Nordisk’s incoming supply chain.
