Job Description:OverviewThe Locksmith/Electrician shall provide mechanical systems support services including maintenance of all associated systems, including Locksmith, HEMP, HVAC, plumbing and plumbing related systems, such as water, fuel and sewage, exterior plumbing, interior plumbing. Shall be familiar with local/applicable codes and shall comply with communications requirements and account for them in design documents. The qualified candidate will work with a team of systems technicians to ensure customer satisfaction and timely project completion.Responsibilities
- Locksmith Duties:
- Manufacture keys.
- Install lock cores.
- Re-core and re-pin locks.
- Change lock combinations (including safes, GSA containers, electronic locks, and entry controls).
- Assist in Emergency access services for lock devices for which the combination or key is not available.
- Overhauling, repairing, and modifying vaults and safes.
- Disassembles locks, such as padlocks, safe locks, and door locks, and repairs
- Replaces worn tumblers, springs, and other parts.
- Moves lockpick in cylinder to open door locks without keys.
- Inspect locks that appear to have been tampered with and determine how the locking system was last entered and report our outline in the PWS.
- Maintain and repair the card key locks (to include annual replacement of batteries).
- Conduct inspections upon request on vault locks and safe locks to assist in determining if the safe can be certified for the security level it is to be used for.
- Read Work Orders, parts requests, drawings/schematics/blueprints, and manuals to accomplish assigned duties.
- Maintain key and lock logs for buildings, containers, and equipment as outline in our contract.
- Maintain records as outlined in the contract.
- Conduct all work in accordance with SECNAVINST 5510.36
- Perform preventative and demand carpentry maintenance.
- Perform carpentry services to repair, install, and replace buildings and structures and associated components.
- Fabrication, installation, and repair of items such as wooden doors, floors, walls, ceilings, exterior structures, windows, cabinets, shelves, handrails, closets, shipping crates, pallets, stages, bulletin boards, and other hardware associated with buildings and structures.
- Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
- Performs inspections and preventative maintenance on HEMP, HVAC and plumbing systems on site systems and components to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs and repair parts and recommend preventive maintenance improvements.
- Uses a Computerized database to track work orders, request material and update work order statuses as needed.
- Performs the full range of operation and maintenance; to include but not limited to; scheduled and unscheduled; preventive maintenance, inspections, analysis, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Completes and oversees installations of heating and air conditioning equipment and HVAC and enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
- Maintains vehicles, tools and equipment in a serviceable status.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training and seminars
- Requests equipment and supplies to maintain correct inventory amounts and ensure availability of items required to complete necessary installations and/or repair.
- Responds to emergency situations during or after hours
- Fabricates equipment parts to meet specialty needs and/or replace unavailable parts
- Transports a variety of tools, equipment
- Assists in determining exact nature and extent of repairs required and assists in major and minor repairs
- Check equipment and operating systems and correct wherever necessary.
- Maintain mechanical operations, standards and controls.
- Complete Work Orders as assigned and complete necessary documentation in Work Order software
- Comply with company and customer regulations and policies.
- Manage positive customer experience
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Certifications: Two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience desired.
- Professional Locksmithing Certification
- GSA Authorized Safe and Vault Technician & Inspector Certification, Including Kaba Mas X-10 Certification
- EPA Universal certification
- Welding certification
- Must have a Valid Driver’s License
- Experience:
- Two years’ experience in similar position
- Skills:
- Must understand, read, write and speak English.
- Working Environment
- Work is generally in a shop environment.
- Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required is certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules
