What You’ll Do

• Verify chemical resistance of new or existing components when exposed to defined chemical
• Conduct material related tests for characterization and/or compatibility
• Drive material related failure analysis from units returned from field
• Test and define hardware limits related to chemical properties (viscosity, concentration, temperature, etc.)
• Drive the release of new chemicals on customer requests in alignment with design, safety & process
• Provide collected technical data in trade-off tables to summarize useable materials in the design/redesign phases with correlated risks
• Drive concept and feasibility projects

Who We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in material science, mechanical engineering, chemistry or any related field
• Education program shall have a strong affinity to plastic materials and laboratory experience

Preferred Qualification

• Work experience of more than two years in the field of material science beneficial
• MS Office Knowledge mandatory
• Very good oral and written communication skills in English
• Technical understanding and good problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and focus on detail
• Experience in semiconductor industry preferred

What We’re Offering

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group E or F depending on education. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
