We are looking for a talented Accounting Associate to join our team specializing in Finance for our Country Support Department in Milan, DBU Via Liguria, Italy.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting through compiling and consolidating accounting data and conducting in-depth financial analysis.
- Preparing and analyzing journal entries that require thoughtful evaluation, ensuring transactions are recorded correctly.
- Completing complex account reconciliations on a monthly and annual basis, helping to maintain the integrity of financial statements.
- Supporting decision-making by preparing detailed tables, charts, and exhibits for reports that enhance clarity and understanding of financial performance.
- Managing the month-end close process efficiently, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required accounting tasks.
- Contributing to complex accounting projects or participating in project teams, driving improvements in processes and systems.
- Responding to ad-hoc reporting requests by providing accurate and insightful financial information as needed, supporting both routine and urgent business needs.
- Working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating your ability to handle tasks with precision and accountability.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Proficiency in financial analysis and internal controls to interpret financial data, analyze trends, ensure data integrity, and implement effective internal control frameworks.
- Effective communication skills both in English and Italian to deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences, ensuring understanding and alignment across stakeholders.
- Strong decision-making and action-oriented approach to tackle challenges with urgency, energy, and enthusiasm while making timely, high-quality decisions.
- Customer-focused mindset to build strong relationships with stakeholders, providing solutions that address their specific financial needs and challenges.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations; university degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
- Accounting experience with an Italian entity or multinational with a strong representation in Italy.
- Moderate experience and knowledge of statutory (preparing/submitting VAT declaration, income tax, invoicing, etc.).
