Your role & work environmentYou will work in one of the larger dealing rooms of ING in Europe and head the Client Solutions Group (“CSG”) EMEA Rates team, a highly specialised team within Financial Markets Sales. Client Solutions Group is a global team (with presence in dealing rooms of Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Singapore, HK and New York), that works together with various local corporate sales teams in more than 25 locations to service our clients. CSG consists of product experts specialised in Commodities, FX Options, Rates, and Strategic Equity solutions. The EMEA Rates team is a team of 7 OTC derivatives professionals spread across 3 locations and is part of the Corporates Sales organisation with a focus on that client segment.CSG proactively identifies new business opportunities by working with FM sales, sector specialists and by visiting clients (together with Sales). All to understand client needs/problems and to develop potential (new) solutions, understanding market developments and changes (via sales, external intelligence, and clients). Promoting relevant opportunities and solutions; responsible to structurally distribute information about trends and themes to salespeople across the FM sales platform. In addition, CSG provides support in executing complex transactions (or takes over the execution in specific cases).Team mission statement:

Functionally you will report into the Global Head of CSG who has historically double hatted this role, locally you may report into the Head of Corporate Sales (depending on the location)Your key responsibilities
- You will manage and develop a team of 7 dedicated derivative specialists (this number includes yourself as the role is not set on a standalone basis). We are looking for a player/coach type of profile that is also able to contribute individually.
- Your team continuously identifies, proposes, and implements innovative or alternative ideas to improve the customer journey and/or the ING WB value proposition and is pivotal when developing new businesses or thought solutions
- Your team will be the centre of expertise on (non)linear rates and inflation derivatives and supports FM Sales and Sector teams in deal origination, structuring and execution.
- Oversee the execution of complex rates transactions (a.o. Hedge Coordination, DCH, novations), ensuring that they are completed in a timely and efficient manner while meeting client needs and regulatory requirements.
- Idea generation: lead and coordinate idea generation for the rates asset class and work closely with sales and trading colleagues, with a focus on enhancing client conversations on potential FM opportunities
- Specifically, organize and monitor sale push of the Rates product; analyze client needs and advise sales on the most relevant solutions according to client needs; help sales (if needed) to sell solutions by defining the selling points and developing the commercial pitch
- Further improve value adding services that make a difference for our clients (e.g. adding value in hedge consulting, risk analytics, sustainability or hedge accounting)
- Guide and assure the quality of pitching material and follow-up reports that are produced by our pool of junior colleagues and interns
- Continously educate and support FM colleagues, Sector Coverage and Product colleagues, as well as clients on Rates products
- Visit clients and sales locations in EMEA together with the local origination sales to pitch rates solutions
- Drive rates business strategy planning by working closely with trading and structuring in identifying key market opportunities and monitor progress in the execution of the strategy.
- Post-trade coordination: coordinate with support functions and ensures the soundness and accuracy of the post trade process (bookings, documentation, risk consumption, etc.)
- People management: foster an open culture by driving employee engagement and organizational health, ensuring there is a healthy balance between the wellbeing of business and people
- Behaviors: be a role model, supporting and fostering a culture of good cooperation between origination sales, global FM sector leads and CSG (Triangle approach). Actively promote continuous improvement with respect to The Orange Code, compliance culture and cross functional and geographical collaboration

- A university degree in econometrics, business economics, financial engineering, and/or CFA or equivalent academic background
- 10+ years of relevant working experience in the financial services sector
- Strong knowledge of financial markets products (swaps, forwards, options in various asset classes) and international finance (debt capital markets, M&A); knowledge on hedge accounting and financial risk management is considered a plus
- Proven track record in originating, structuring and executing derivatives products and executing complex deals with a strong understanding of the risks related to the underlying products
- Strong leader and communicator with ability to lead a team of senior product specialists and connect people and business by building bridges with internal FM sales, sector and CMA colleagues, to drive FM cross-buy opportunities.
- Strong quantitative, financial, and analytical skills. Affinity with legal documentation is a plus
- Excellent command of English; Fluent in Dutch or French is considered a plus
- Entrepreneurial and commercial drive; an ambassador for change. Contribute to change initiatives with impact for the overall organization
- Demonstrated track record of collaborating with different stakeholders with end-to-end experience in new products delivery
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements and governance is a must
- Demonstrate Orange Code values and behaviors
