ING is looking for a Credit Officer to work in the Risk Management team responsible for the Energy and Transportation & Logistics sectors. This team is part of the Wholesale Banking Transaction Approval & Advice and is based in Amsterdam. The department covers all the Wholesale Banking sectors and comprises approximately 60 people. You will report to the Head of Risk Energy, Transportation & Logistics.The role of the Credit Officer is to support the sector Senior Credit Officers (SCO) in executing client transactions from originating to closing and helping to manage the credit risk of the Energy and Transportation & Logistics portfolios. It is a wide-ranging role that provides an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of credit risk management. You will be working closely with and under responsibility of the respective SCOs for these Sectors.The Credit Risk teams are frequently engaged in strategic projects covering sector analysis, reporting, climate change and many other related initiatives covering the wider credit strategy of ING.The TeamWholesale Banking Transaction Approval & Advice is globally responsible for the transaction approval process and portfolio risk management of Wholesale Banking Sectors and Lending products. The department consists of about 60 persons, organised along four main teams:Energy and Transportation & Logistics; Real Estate, Infra & Construction; TMT & Healthcare, FI Lending and Lending Risk; Commodities, Food and Agri.The Energy and Transportation & Logistics team consists of 12 people (including this vacancy) responsible for all types of transactions across the sub-sectors (Automotive, Aviation, Shipping/Containers, Upstream, Offshore, Mid and Downstream, Renewables).The team is based in Amsterdam, and there is close cooperation with other risk teams across the global organization. Working from home and being part of virtual teams is part of the day to day working environmentRoles and responsibilitiesSupporting the SCOs on new transactions, credit modifications and annual reviews in order to form an opinion on the credit risk.Ensuring quality and consistency of credit applications and that transactions meet the conditions of approval as set out in the credit process;Closely monitoring the portfolios and helping to develop data led reporting.Actively providing input and performing analysis for various internal/external reports;Developing and maintaining relationships with front office peers and stakeholdersProviding assistance to SCOs with admin and system tasks in for example Vortex and Approval Package.Participating in projects and actively providing input for/developing relevant risk policies and reports.How to succeedWe hire smart people like you for your potential.
