We are recruiting a mid-career Health specialist and wish to attract candidates with the energy and enthusiasm required to grow a portfolio of Health programs, become a technical thought leader and develop our health focussed brand.
As the portfolio develops you will be entrusted with technical and program management duties on programs led by us in geographies around the world.
You will be able to call upon our vastly experienced global Health professionals for support, whether that be needed to lead on future health programs or personal mentorship.
At the same time you will be tasked with developing our Health brand and proposition, and can do this through events, conferences, networking, talks and opportunities around the world.
Through this generation of knowledge you will also build your own personal brand, networks and value.
The Opportunity
Primary responsibilities include :
New Business:
■ Lead on opportunity identification and creation; and gathering of market intelligence.
■ Engage in network building with external stakeholders such as clients, partners and potential candidates to support new business efforts.
■ Collaborate with internal stakeholders and across teams as required, to plan and develop proposals.
■ Undertake research related to thematic content, geographies and other programmes.
■ Configure tailored technical and commercial models that meet acceptable levels of commercial and delivery risk.
■ Write and edit content, ensuring proposals are written to high quality standard.
■ Oversee the proposal process and ensure that internal stakeholders are delivering to plan.
■ Oversee pricing inputs that align with the commercial strategy developed in collaboration with colleagues.
■ Contribute to internal knowledge management, organisational capacity building and mentoring
Delivery:
■ Ensure high quality stakeholder engagement with clients, partners and programme staff.
■ Provide oversight and quality assurance of programme delivery, including supporting teams with financial and risk management, compliance, and workplanning to ensures programme requirements are met.
■ Oversee and contribute to programme reporting as required.
Competencies and Expertise:
Professional
■ Strong understanding of business development strategy and process, and a demonstrated ability to win.
■ Strong understanding of project management approaches and systems, and a demonstrated track record of overseeing programmes.
■ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
■ Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
■ Experience leading teams
■ Experience working with international donors, and the UK government specifically.
■ Postgraduate degree in relevant field or equivalent relevant experience
Technical (one or more of the following):
■ Analysis and understanding of global health. Knowledge of global health trends, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals and global health architecture.
■ Health Governance and Systems Strengthening . Technical knowledge in health governance and supporting health system resilience, including institutional capacity strengthening, health workforce, financing, leadership & accountability; and / or
■ Knowledge and understanding of health security issues and strategies; and / or
■ Knowledge and understanding of health equity and wider determinants of health
■ Design and management of donor-funded health programmes in LMICs.
