The adventure begins right here, with you, at SITA.ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAMSITA’s Aircraft Business Unit has a presence in 20+ countries and makes flight operations, air traffic management and aircraft maintenance more sustainable and efficient by enabling collaboration between people and organizations in the air transport industry.We are looking for a Customer Project Delivery team manager AMER & EUR to manage a team of project managers that are responsible to drive a range of complex projects and programs tailored to the needs of our diverse customer base in a dynamic environment.Reporting to the PMO Director, you will join a dynamic global project and program delivery organization that has a broad range of responsibilities from bid management to customer delivery, product development, and organizational change management. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams within SITA’s Aircraft Business Unit, such as commercial, engineering & technology, product, finance, and you will be responsible to ensure the customer facing team meets its on time delivery commitments & project revenue targets.WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • People Management: Lead and mentor a team of experienced customer-facing project managers, fostering a positive, results-oriented mindset. Support your team’s growth, development, and potential.
  • Project and Program Portfolio Management: Oversee regional project portfolios from pipeline management through to delivery and operational readiness. Ensure effective governance and hold regular review forums with stakeholders and sponsors to track progress and outcomes.
  • Project Management Expertise: Leverage your deep PM expertise across all phases, from inception to closure. Handle business cases, capacity plans, risk mitigation strategies, and deliver on key targets and KPIs. Ensure accurate documentation of project activities, including communication strategies, resource allocation, status reports, change requests, risk tracking, variance analysis, and lessons learned.
  • Commercial Responsibilities: Drive commercial projects by enabling new business opportunities, managing commercial contracts delivery, and ensuring smooth execution. Engage in customer-facing activities, and support commercial teams in pre-sales to support business growth and build the project pipeline.
  • Executive-Level Reporting: Present confidently to C-level executives and review forums, providing the appropriate level of detail. When needed, conduct deep dives into project status to address specific concerns. Ensure that project reporting for the portfolio is kept up to date and maintain dashboards ready for delivery reviews.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain meticulous oversight of project portfolios, regularly reviewing status, progress, risks, and corrective actions with your team and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
  • Effective Communication: Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to lead both internal and external forums. Inspire collaboration and positive engagement across teams. Work closely with APAC and MEA teams to ensure alignment in practice for the Aircraft business unit and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Collaborate with both local and remote team members, effectively negotiating across organizational levels. Mentor and develop team members, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.

QualificationsABOUT YOUR SKILLS

  • Extensive Project Management Experience: You have a minimum of ten years managing project teams responsible for projects and programs of varying sizes, complexities, budgets, and deliverables, ideally within the aviation or air traffic management IT services sector. Your experience includes overseeing multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Demonstrated ability to manage and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. You have a proven track record of nurturing team members, providing mentorship, training, and career development opportunities.
  • Educational Background: You hold a university degree or equivalent qualification within an appropriate technical domain, ideally within IT, aviation or relevant.
  • Professional Certifications: You possess formal project management training and certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Prince2 (Projects in Controlled Environments).
  • Commercial Acumen: You possess robust commercial skills with a track record of driving commercial contracts and projects linked to customer delivery and business development.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: You have strong communication abilities with proven experience in speaking in front of executives and senior management. You can effectively convey complex ideas and project updates to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to track pipeline, multiple project facets of the portfolio, and develop dashboards. You are adept at using project management tools and software to monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborative and Influential: Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, globally dispersed teams, and skillfully influence stakeholders. You excel in building relationships and fostering a culture of teamwork and cooperation across different departments and regions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A strong problem solver driven to uncover and implement effective solutions. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and developing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project success.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate seamlessly with international teams and stakeholders.
