Analytical Scientist – Physicochemistry SpecialistThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Analytical Scientist with expertise in physicochemical techniques to join my clients established Analytical Development & Testing team to help contribute to the advancement of the labs analytical techniques in pharmaceutical development. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in techniques such as Particle Size Distribution (PSD), Rheology, and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Part of your role will be to train and mentor junior roles so this is a great opportunity for someone aspiring to future team lead or management positions.There is no French language requirement for this role.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, verify, pre-validate, and implement analytical methods for development projects.
  • Manage and maintain specialized equipment, including Morphology G3, MS3000, Rheometer, DSC, Gel Permeation Chromatography, FT-IR, and Karl Fischer Titrator.
  • Conduct regular performance checks and troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assess new analytical technologies.
  • Perform literature reviews to define method development parameters.
  • Create Analytical Target Profiles and protocols for method development.
  • Develop robust analytical methods and process data to ensure fit-for-purpose outcomes.
  • Write and execute protocols in line with internal and ICH guidelines.
  • Support method transfer to internal and external (CDMO) users.
  • Implement analytical methods for internal and external testing requests.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in pharmaceutical development, focusing on analytical techniques such as Particle Size Determination (Laser diffraction or Optical Microscopy), Rheology, or DSC.
  • Familiarity with Morphologi G3, Mastersizer 3000, Lab X, and Empower 3 software is beneficial.
  • Experience with Gel Permeation Chromatography, Karl Fischer titration, and FT-IR is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Quality by Design (QbD) principles in analytical method development and pre-validation is preferred.
  • Experience working under GMP/GLP and ICH Guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
