It’s fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they’re doing!Job Description:Summary of the responsibilitiesThis position is responsible for supporting the France organization through the day-to-day management, development and implementation of best-in-class Transportation & Customs Services. He/she will report directly to the Senior Regional Transportation Manager. There are apr. 3-5 direct reports planned at this stage.This function will be responsible for managing the current setup, cost and SLA performance but also to new strategic planning of the Customs activities (inhouse vs outsourced) and a new carrier portfolio. This should include the following elements:

  • Align with the demand of the clients on their future strategy and needs.
  • Work closely with the carriers and Customs to map out the required cost and performance in our network.
  • Create a roadmap to transition into the new setup.
  • Supervision and team leadership (5 people)

The person is expected to fully understand the Ingram Micro France network and capabilities of the major carriers and basic know-how of Customs regulations. The qualified person requires excellent communication skills to all levels within and outside the organization including giving presentations and a good understanding of the strategic direction. The person should also have an in-depth knowledge of the MS Office package.The person needs be able to give essential support and work closely with the warehouse operations teams (in- & outbound), Sales/Go-to-Market, Customer Service and Finance departments.
Essential Transportation tasks

  • Day-to-day management of all transportation flows from/to France
  • Management of the related systems for freight management (TMS, Track & Trace)
  • Coordinate the carriers and map their cost and SLA performance in the network. (monthly reports)
  • Validate the payments and billing processes with all carriers
  • Act as the primary senior subject matter expert for transportation internally as well as externally with strategic clients
  • Work with the internal teams (Operations. GtM, Finance) to understand the local needs, the cost and performance of the existing partners.
  • Corporate with the EMEA Transportation leadership within the Ingram Micro TS Organization to identify potential synergies.
  • Support major strategic projects on Transportation aspects, project falls into capacity extensions for existing clients, implementation of new client’s or performance improvements.
  • Support the Operations and Commercial teams in responding to RFQ’s through identifying the best transportation solution from a cost and performance point of view.
  • Budget responsibility for own cost centers
  • Validate current carriers to new potential carriers in the French market depending on the changed demand
  • Regulatory monitoring
  • Guaranteeing freight security in accordance with internal procedures and the application of safety and security rules
  • Ensures and drives ESG policy

Key Customs tasks:

  • Support the central Customs team and agents in France for all importation and exportation shipments
  • Contact person for authorities, external and internal customers as well as support of other Ingram Micro France companies in all questions concerning customs
  • Increasing throughput and efficiency in cooperation with all operational areas (continuous improvement)
  • Cooperation with employee representatives in warehouse, GtM and other required area’s
  • Budget responsibility for own cost centers (control of invoices and customs duties)
  • Contact with Internal and 3PL parties

Criteria:

  • University degree (preferably in business or logistics, or equivalent professional training and education)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a management position in a Transportation and/or Customs role within a freight forwarding or logistics environment (preferably in an international environment)
  • Some experience in international trade, Inco terms and documentation
  • Experience with management systems or methods such as Lean Management Six Sigma, Kaizen etc. advantageous
  • Good MS Office skills (Outlook etc.)
  • Besides French language as excellent know how in the English language (fluent written and oral practice)
  • Expertise in team & leadership management
