Human by nature.Overall ObjectiveAs a Formulation project manager, you will co-design, develop, characterize and evaluate new innovative cosmetic ingredients (functional), for Personal Care applications.Additionally you will support the global business by managing laboratory trials, compatibility tests, stability tests and analysis and support pilot and industrial scale-up.Furthermore you will present results to R&D and marketing teams, or to customers.You will report directly to the Cosmetic Formulation Lab Manager.Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design of new ingredients for skin and hair care market based on internal strategy or external business opportunities with our biodegradability and sustainability policies.
• Develop these innovative solutions through laboratory trials, compatibility tests, stability tests to validate their suitability in cosmetic formulas, in collaboration with several stakeholders (eg: Catman, R&D, Sales, Procurement, RAPS, …).
• Evaluate biological, physical, and chemical properties of cosmetic ingredients, if needed with the support of analytical & biological experts (structure characterization, evaluation of the physical properties, rheology, stability, and measure of performance).
• Provide technical support to customers & sales by answering their formulation questions and finding solutions on Active Beauty portfolio ingredients. (troubleshooting)
• Be able to present results to R&D, customers or Marketing in a fluid and comprehensive way (French and English).

Academic Background

• Cosmetic Chemist or Technologist
• Cosmetic ingredients Engineer
• Chemical Engineering with notions of cosmetic formulations

Professional Experience

• At least 5 years of cosmetic ingredients laboratory experience, if possible with natural ingredients
• Experience in cosmetic ingredients or personal care market
• Experience working in a matrix environment

Technical Skills

• Expertise in the formulation of cosmetic specialties & actives·
• Knowledge of polymer chemistry
• Technical understanding
• Project Management skills
• Fluency in English and French
• Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to convey information in an engaging way
• Efficient priority-setting
• Expertise in rheology would be a plus.
