Job Title: HR Business Partner – 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: From £45,300+
Location : Peterborough

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary
Reporting to the HR Manager, this role provides direction and support to business units in the areas of employee experience, HR policies and procedures, talent management, training and performance management.
The role incudes managing complex employee relations cases, providing leaders with guidance and support on all people related issues. Business partnering different business units on site, advising and guiding leaders in all aspects of the employee life cycle. Working with the HR Manager & HR Consultants to providing business appropriate solutions to improve employee experience and engagement at site. What You Will Do:
- Lead complex Employee Relations cases including investigations, grievances and disciplinaries in line with employment law and company policies and procedures
- Provide guidance and support to the business, build good working relationships and partner with leaders of all levels to be seen as a trusted advisor
- Provide proactive coaching to leaders of all levels and employees such as conflict resolution, policy advice and ER related issues
- Support strategic business initiatives and UK/global projects
- Support initiatives to improve employee experience and engagement
- Creating and delivering HR specific training to leaders
- Advise leaders on people related issues inc. performance management and supporting performance improvement plans
- Utilise HR knowledge to execute workforce plans, talent management processes, integrating talent data and analytics to support the business
- Sickness absence management, work closely with Occupational Health and leaders
- Coach and guide on queries relating to the employee life cycle
- Implement changes to HR Policies and Procedure
- Provide HR data analytics and reporting, understanding trends in data
- Develop solutions for HR process improvements and standardisation, develop and maintain lean processes
What You Have:
Employee Relations : Knowledge of the rights and obligations in the employee relations; ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations.

- Conducts employee satisfaction surveys and documents interviewees’ concerns and issues.
- Explains organizational policies, procedures and processes for dealing with employee relations issues.
- Addresses routine problems or disciplinary issues related to employee relations, such as grievances.

Top Candidates may have :
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience within a manufacturing or logistics environment

Additional Info :
We operate a hybrid working week consisting of three days in the office and two from home.
