Job Summary As a leading creator of flavor solutions for beverages, sweet goods, savory, and dairy products around the world, IFF helps our customers deliver on the promise of delicious foods and drinks that consumers love.As the Seasoning Design Excellence Director the position will serve as the SME and lead global technical contact for understanding seasoning functionality to optimize physical product performance through design and processMajor Accountabilities

• Leverage industry expertise to provide technical leadership to Seasoning Flavorists supporting PepsiCo Snacks around the globe with a comprehensive understanding of seasoning functionality and knowledge on how to design to optimize and meet seasoning flowability/physical product performance with a focus on reduced sodium products where traditional ingredients are highly limited or not available for use
• Develop, maintain and update seasoning functionality program to align with PepsiCo requirements, SOP, process, etc.
• Serve as key contact to and establishes and maintains relationships with PepsiCo Global Functionality leads/team, and navigates the customer’s evolving culture through nurturing and regular visibility/communication with the account
• In addition to seasoning design excellence, focus upon ingredient optimization and alternative supply qualification
• Supports Productivity

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership globally to bring knowledge and visibility to best practices to development, address efficiencies, and ways of working for Functionality
• As SME for Functionality, ensure IFF team is appropriately trained on product design, equipment use/procedures according to PepsiCo SOP, understands how to interpret testing results and action them, and ensures all are current on latest updates and training
• Through close interaction with the customer, keep IFF team current on needs, expectations; communicates details and ensure compliance by global team
• Clear communication and understanding of functionality program for PepsiCo Snacks to regional and global team
• Acts as liaison between IFF facilities to share learnings and experiences to continually improve capabilities in seasoning functionality
• Work effectively at a hands-on level as required and provide support and/or leadership to assigned product teams to ensure highest win rate possible by developing salable and production-friendly products within project criteria/parameters (regulatory and client requirements)
• Work closely with Product Commercialization Specialists to ensure successful new product/reformulated product scale up (Brief to Batch process)
• Coordinates efforts with cross-functional team to validate RM alternative supply qualification for PepsiCo, revisions to processing, and other activities to streamline approach to seasoning design or processing intended to optimize product and/or deliver cost savings/productivity

Job RequirementsA successful candidate must have:

• Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines, Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5- 10 years’ experience in industrial food, ingredient or flavor industry.
• Ability to identify and drive business opportunities to deliver business results.
• Instinctively creative and experimental in thinking and acting.
• Awareness and interest in local/ regional and global news and issues.
• Ability to work independently and be strategic in thinking in ambiguous situations.
• Communicates a compelling and inspired vision and sense of core purpose to the customer.
• A passion for the snacks category, developing customer partnerships / relationships and driving growth.
