As part of the Student, Academic, and Corporate Services (SACS) Directorate, Student and Faculty Operations (SFO) has a remit to design, lead and deliver an informed, effective, and integrated professional service for the five faculties, which in turn will benefit both the staff and student experience. SFO delivery ranges from strategic level support and resource planning and management for Deans, to the breadth and depth of the administration and technical service of learning, teaching and research in faculties, and the fluent management of the Student Administration lifecycle from enrolment to graduation.You will be based within the Faculty of Health Science and Sport as part of the wider Student and Faculty Operations grouping which brings together faculty-based professional services teams and related central services. This role will be split equally across the Faculty Operations Team and the Learning and Teaching Team.You will act as a first point of contact for staff, students, visitors and other key stakeholders. You will deliver high quality administrative support for the Faculty Office as well as a range of tasks relating to the administration of academic programmes and other activities. You will support the student experience, assist academic staff, students and professional service colleagues.You will demonstrate strong communication, organisational and administrative skills and support the day-to-day running of a busy office. An interest in supporting the student community is essential, as is the ability to work flexibly as part of a team and to prioritise responsibilities within a busy working environment.Your application of processes and procedures and use of systems will be efficient, effective and customer focused and you will ensure compliance with University regulations and, where appropriate, the requirements of external accrediting bodies.You will work closely with colleagues across the Faculty as well as others within central professional services teams including Human Resources, Finance, Estates and Campus Services, Information Services, Student Administration, Academic Registry, and Student Support Services.Informal enquiries should be made to Lyana Macinnes, Operations Manager, Faculty of Health Science and Sport,Description of Duties
- Provide administrative support to academic staff, professional services colleagues, applicants and students
- Support the PA/Operations Officer on a range of HR, recruitment and health and safety activities
- Provide support to Faculty Committees and working groups
- Manage Faculty website updates
- Assist with a range of financial tasks
- Maintain good working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels
- Handle confidential information with discretion, adhere to university policies, and maintain high ethical standards in all administrative tasks
- General office operations
- Assist with recruitment, conversion, and induction activities
- Provide assistance in managing the administrative aspects of the student life cycle
