For this role you can be based in either our Birmingham or Manchester office.Why this job mattersBT is seeking an Agile Delivery Lead to take responsibility for the delivery of new products and services within a Tribe composed of multidisciplinary squads, focusing on our most complex initiatives. In this role, you will oversee the successful delivery of large-scale, intricate products and programmes, coordinating efforts across multiple teams and disciplines within the Tribe. You will collaborate closely with Senior Leaders and Directors to ensure alignment and effective outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of Delivery you will develop the Agile Delivery capability within the organisation by role modelling and embedding state-of-the-art Delivery practices within the business.What you’ll be doing
- Accountable for ensuring the portfolio of work within the Tribe is on track and teams are working to clearly defined and well communicated outcomes.
- Accountable for designing and orchestrating department-wide agile delivery processes needed to deliver successful outcomes while bringing cohesive approaches across them wherever possible
- Drive the delivery of our most complex strategic initiatives across multiple Tribes and Squads
- Own all planning-related work within the Squads within the Tribe, ensuring intentional and effective planning resulting in impactful and realistic plans with tight feedback loops
- Drive the overarching perspective on the best delivery of goals and initiatives within the Tribes, ensuring overall structure and alignment
- Develop the agile delivery capability within the organisation by role modelling and embedding agile practices within teams
- Plan, communicate, and visualise progress towards goals, actively managing risks, issues, and dependencies, providing support where needed outside your Tribe
- Break down barriers to progress, both at a higher planning level and in the details, and provide support across the departments, stakeholder and projects where needed
- Create great cross discipline working environments in both the Squads / Tribes you support and across the organisation, whilst identifying the best partners to make it reality
Experience you’ll have
- Seasoned Lead Agile Delivery Manager or Programme Manager with a proven track record delivering large scale, complex programmes from idea to launch and adoption by our colleagues and customers
- Have worked in digital or agile transformation and have experience with managing change and structuring ambiguity
- Experienced creating and driving Agile / Lean delivery approaches cross functionally and departmentally, whilst ensuring alignment to broader business strategies and goals
- Experienced in building high-performing teams, fosters collaboration, motivates in matrix environments, resolves conflicts, and drives alignment across departments and stakeholders
- Promotes a continuous learning culture, uses data-driven decisions, and leads continuous team improvements with measurable success focused on outcomes
- Set the departmental example on successfully delivering cross functional digital projects as part of a wider digital transformation journey
- Excels at engaging with business stakeholders to clarify their business requirements and manage competing priorities
- Skilled in budget creation and management, ensuring projects operate within financial constraints.
- You bring excellent quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills and an ability to translate metrics, research and trends into viable strategies
